Am Freitag, 14. November 2025, sind alle Hochschulmitglieder herzlich eingeladen, an der hochkarätig besetzten Veranstaltung „Antisemitismus, Rassismus und Autoritarismus begegnen“ teilzunehmen. Sie findet von 11.00 bis 16.30 Uhr im Café Glaskasten im Erdgeschoss des h_da-Hochhauses statt. Auf dem Programm stehen unter anderem Vorträge von Saba-Nur Cheema (Goethe-Uni Frankfurt) und Prof. Dr. Meron Mendel (Bildungsstätte Anne Frank / Frankfurt UAS) sowie von Dr. Ayline Heller vom Leibniz-Institut für Sozialwissenschaften und dem Psychoanalytiker Dr. Charlie Kaufhold.

Prof. Dr. Lisa Niederreiter vom Fachbereich Soziale Arbeit bietet einen Workshop zum Thema „Begegnungen mit dem persönlichen Fremden im Spiegel der Kunst“ an. Zum Abschluss gibt es ein Podiumsgespräch mit allen Referierenden und h_da-Präsident Prof. Dr. Arnd Steinmetz. Bitte melden Sie sich hier über das Buchungssystem Anny an. Unter der Leitung von Präsident Prof. Dr. Arnd Steinmetz besuchte eine Delegation der h_da im September ihre langjährigen Partnerhochschulen in Brasilien und Paraguay. Mit dabei waren Vertreter*innen der Fachbereiche BU, MK, W, S und des International Office. Stationen waren u.a. die Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, die Universidade Estadual Paulista in São Paulo und Guaratinguetá sowie die Universidade de São Paulo und die Universidad Nacional de Asunción. Im Mittelpunkt standen Austausch zu Forschung, Lehre und Studierendenmobilität sowie neue Ideen für gemeinsame Projekte. Nach eindrucksvollen Besuchen kehrte die Delegation mit vielen Impulsen und großem Dank für die herzliche Gastfreundschaft zurück. Mehr Eindrücke von der Reise gibt es beim „Lateinamerika-Abend“ am 20. November 2025, 18.30 bis 21.00 Uhr im Café Glaskasten – mit Bildern, Kurzvorträgen, Infos zu Auslandsaufenthalten sowie Musik, Snacks und lateinamerikanischem Flair.

Am Mittwoch, 26. November, lädt das Servicezentrum Forschung und Transfer (SFT) von 16 bis 20 Uhr alle Forschenden und Promovierenden ins Haus der Forschung (D 22) ein. Anlass ist der h_da-interne Tag der Forschung. Dann heißt es: „Offene Bürotüren“ – die Kolleginnen und Kollegen des SFT stellen sich und ihre Unterstützungsangebote vor. Außerdem präsentieren sich die Forschungszentren sowie Promovierende mit einer Poster-Session.

Nach der Begrüßung durch Vizepräsidentin Prof. Dr. Nicole Saenger gibt es einen Impulsvortrag von Dr. Isabel Roessler (Centrum für Hochschulentwicklung, CHE) und mehrere Kurzpräsentationen. Unter dem Programmpunkt „Talking Science“ geben acht Forschende der h_da Einblicke in die drei Forschungsschwerpunkte „Angewandte Informatik“, „Nachhaltige Transformation“ sowie „Kommunikation, Medien und gesellschaftlicher Wandel“.

Die Pause und das abschließende Get-together mit Getränken und Brezeln bieten reichlich Gelegenheit für Gespräche und Vernetzung. Die h_da und ihre Partner von der "European University of Technology" (EUT+) haben nicht nur gemeinsame Ziele, sondern neuerdings auch einen gemeinsamen Sound: Im Oktober waren Kolleg*innen unserer EUT+-Partnerhochschulen in Zypern, Bulgarien, Lettland, Italien und Frankreich für eine Projektwoche der besonderen Art zu Gast an der h_da – um gemeinsam zu singen. Im Chor mit weiteren Teilnehmenden aus Finnland und Portugal probten sie die stimmliche und damit auch die interkulturelle Annäherung. Ein Lerneffekt: Gesang verbindet und fördert so auch die berufliche Zusammenarbeit. Mehr dazu im h_da-Magazin impact.

Das h_da Dialog-Forum öffnet wieder Räume für politische Gespräche. Unter dem Leitmotiv „Demokratie gestalten“ lädt das Servicezentrum Forschung und Transfer (SFT) bis zum Frühjahr 2026 zu drei Diskussionsveranstaltungen an den Fachbereich Gestaltung auf der Mathildenhöhe ein. Den Auftakt macht am Donnerstag, 4. Dezember, um 18 Uhr ein so aktuelles wie brisantes Thema: „Demokratie im Netz – Zwischen Desinformation und Technophobie“.

Prof. Dr. Julian Junk, der an der Hessischen Hochschule für öffentliches Management und Sicherheit (HöMS) in Wiesbaden zu Extremismus und Extremismusresilienz forscht, und Medienwissenschaftler Prof. Dr. Lars Rademacher vom Fachbereich Media der h_da halten kurze Impulsvorträge. Bei der anschließenden Diskussionsrunde ist das Podium mit weiteren Expertinnen und Experten besetzt. Das Publikum kann mitdiskutieren und eigene Fragen einbringen. Marion Kuchenny vom Hessischen Rundfunk moderiert den Abend. Wie bei allen Dialog-Foren seit 2020 ist der Eintritt frei und sind interessierte Bürgerinnen und Bürger eingeladen – selbstverständlich auch die Angehörigen der h_da. Im Oktober hieß die h_da offiziell ihre neuen Kolleg*innen willkommen: Erstmalig gab es in diesem Jahr eine Begrüßungsveranstaltung für die neuen Mitarbeitenden (Foto), außerdem erneut ein Event für neuberufene Professor*innen. Die Veranstaltungen wurden von der Abteilung Personal- und Organisationsentwicklung organisiert und boten einen offenen, lebendigen Rahmen fürs Ankommen und Kennenlernen. Insgesamt 79 neue Kolleg*innen wurden vom Präsidium willkommen geheißen und erhielten vielfältige Informationen rund um die h_da. Darüber hinaus bot sich die Gelegenheit, auf einem „Marktplatz der Möglichkeiten“ zentrale Abteilungen und wichtige Ansprechpersonen kennenzulernen. Abgerundet wurden beide Tage durch Einblicke in verschiedene Fachbereiche. Besonderes Highlight: Einige der Neuberufenen wurden am Morgen ihrer Begrüßungsveranstaltung durch h_da-Präsident Prof. Dr. Arnd Steinmetz vereidigt und starteten anschließend frisch in ihr neues Amt.

On Friday, 14 November 2025, all university members are cordially invited to attend the high-profile event ‘Confronting anti-Semitism, racism and authoritarianism’. It will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Café Glaskasten on the ground floor of the h_da high-rise building. The programme includes lectures by Saba-Nur Cheema (Goethe University Frankfurt) and Prof. Dr. Meron Mendel (Anne Frank Educational Centre / Frankfurt UAS), as well as Dr. Ayline Heller from the Leibniz Institute for Social Sciences and psychoanalyst Dr. Charlie Kaufhold.

Prof. Dr. Lisa Niederreiter from the Faculty of Social Work will offer a workshop on the topic of ‘Encounters with the personal stranger as reflected in art’. The event will conclude with a panel discussion with all speakers and h_da President Prof. Dr. Arnd Steinmetz. Please register here via the Anny booking system. Led by President Prof. Dr. Arnd Steinmetz, a delegation from h_da visited its long-standing partner universities in Brazil and Paraguay in September. The delegation included representatives from the departments BU, MK, W and S and the International Office. Stops included the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, the Universidade Estadual Paulista in São Paulo and Guaratinguetá, the Universidade de São Paulo and the Universidad Nacional de Asunción. The focus was on exchanges on research, teaching and student mobility, as well as new ideas for joint projects. After impressive visits, the delegation returned with many ideas and great gratitude for the warm hospitality. More impressions of the trip will be shared at the ‘Latin America Evening’ on 20 November 2025, from 6.30 to 9 p.m. at Café Glaskasten – with pictures, short presentations, information on stays abroad, music, snacks and Latin American flair.

On Wednesday, 26 November, the Service Centre for Research and Transfer (SFT) invites all researchers and doctoral students to the House of Research (D 22) from 4 to 8 p.m. The occasion is the h_da internal Research Day. The motto is: ‘open office doors’ – colleagues from the SFT will introduce themselves and their support services. In addition, the research centres and doctoral students will present themselves in a poster session.

After a welcome by Vice-President Prof. Dr. Nicole Saenger, there will be a keynote speech by Dr. Isabel Roessler (Centre for Higher Education Development, CHE) and several short presentations. Under the programme item ‘Talking Science’, eight researchers from h_da will provide insights into the three main areas of research: ‘Applied Computer Science’, ‘Sustainable Transformation’ and ‘Communication, Media and Social Change’.

The break and the concluding get-together with drinks and pretzels will offer ample opportunity for discussion and networking. h_da and its partners from the European University of Technology (EUT+) not only share common goals, but now also a common sound: in October, colleagues from our EUT+ partner universities in Cyprus, Bulgaria, Latvia, Italy and France visited h_da for a special kind of project week – to sing together. In a choir with other participants from Finland and Portugal, they rehearsed vocal and thus also intercultural rapprochement. One lesson learned: singing connects people and thus also promotes professional cooperation. Read more about this in the h_da magazine impact.

The h_da Dialogue Forum is once again opening up spaces for political discussion. Under the motto ‘Shaping Democracy’, the Service Centre for Research and Transfer (SFT) is inviting participants to three discussion events at the Design Department on Mathildenhöhe until spring 2026. The series kicks off on Thursday, 4 December, at 6 p.m. with a topic that is as current as it is controversial: ‘Democracy on the Internet – Between Disinformation and Technophobia’.

Prof. Dr Julian Junk, who researches extremism and extremism resilience at the Hessian University of Public Management and Security (HöMS) in Wiesbaden, and media scientist Prof. Dr Lars Rademacher from the Media Department at h_da will give short keynote speeches. The panel for the subsequent discussion will include additional experts. The audience can join in the discussion and ask their own questions. Marion Kuchenny from Hessischer Rundfunk will moderate the evening. As with all dialogue forums since 2020, admission is free and interested citizens are invited to attend – including, of course, members of the h_da community. In October, h_da officially welcomed its new colleagues: For the first time this year, there was a welcome event for new employees (photo), as well as another event for newly appointed professors. The events were organised by the Human Resources and Organisational Development department and provided an open, lively setting for arriving and getting to know each other. A total of 79 new colleagues were welcomed by the University Executive Board and received a wide range of information about h_da. In addition, there was an opportunity to get to know key departments and important contact persons at a ‘marketplace of opportunities’. Both days were rounded off with insights into various departments. A special highlight: some of the newly appointed professors were sworn in by h_da President Prof. Dr. Arnd Steinmetz on the morning of their welcome event and then started their new positions.
